Obituary for Ethel Mae Langley Amrhein

Ethel Mae Langley Amrhein was born to Ambrose Clifford and Lelide Doga Langley on July 16, 1930 and passed away on March 2nd, 2018. Ethel Mae was a lifelong resident of Zachary and a graduate of Zachary High School's class of 1947. She was married to her high school sweetheart, R.E., for 66 years, and they owned and operated R.E. Amrhein & Sons Hardware in Zachary for 53 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be truly missed by her family and the entire Zachary community. She was preceded in death by parents Ambrose Clifford and Lelide Langley, brother Huey and wife Peggy, brother Lawrence and wife Wilma, sister-in-law Beryl Amrhein Epperson, and brother-in-law Joe Gautreaux. She is survived by husband, R.E. Amrhein, Jr., children Mike and wife Melanie, Bryant and wife Angela, David and wife Robyn, Lisa Amrhein Hilburn and husband Harvey, and Denise Amrhein, grandkids Dustin and wife Laura Kate, Ashley, Shea and husband Brian, Blake, and Samuel, great grandkids Jackson, Emmett, and Acton, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are grandsons Dustin and Blake Amrhein, Samuel Hilburn and lifelong family friends, Dean, Dale and Marty Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers are Harvey Hilburn, Joe Brian, Chris Davezac and Dr. Karl Luikart. Visitation will be held at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary on Monday, March 5 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, March 6, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 9:00 am to 10:30 am followed by Burial Mass at 10:30. Special thanks to Dr. Karl Luikart for his genuine care and to the dedicated team at Baton Rouge Health Care in Baker.
