Obituary for James Wilburn "Jim" Poole Jr.

James Wilburn Poole, Jr., “Jim”, 69, a resident of Norwood, LA, died on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Norwood Baptist Church in Norwood, LA from 5pm until 8pm and then on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Norwood Baptist Church from 9am until funeral services at 10am, conducted by Rev. Ed Jelks. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Clinton. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda Land Cooke; one daughter, Charmaine Clay and her husband Steve of Gonzales, LA; four sons: Trey Poole and his wife Missy of Norwood; Earl Haynes Poole and his fiancé Dianne of Norwood; Rodney Cooke and his wife Beth of Monroe, LA; Richard Cooke and his fiancé Chari of Madisonville, LA; three sisters, Vivian Poole of Rayville, LA; Mary Susan Stroud of Lake Providence, LA; June Silk of Rayville, LA; one brother, Steve Poole of Lake Providence, LA; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Reather Poole; brother Ed Poole; and brother-in-law Gene Silk. Pallbearers will be Earl Poole, Cody Poole, Ed Poole, Calvin Sagely, T.W. Thompson IV, Kyle Bridges, Jonathon “Ton” Sawyer, and Dale Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Jelks and Charles Frank Haynes. Jim was a 32nd Degree Mason. He had a big heart and love for all of his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Childrens Hosptial.
