Obituary for Prentiss "Pete" Humble Jr.

Prentiss Ivy Humble Jr., “Pete”, 67, a resident of Mansfield, Missouri, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his home. He was retired, after working for Entergy and Summit Natural Gas. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 5pm until 7pm and then on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Galiee Baptist Church from 10am until funeral services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Andrew Williams. Burial will be at Dawson Family Cemetery in Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judy Rutherford Humble; two sons, Kevin I. Humble and his wife Jessica of Baton Rouge; Casey D. Humble and his wife Deann of Wake Forest, NC; two sisters, Carolyn H. Stiles and husband Brad of Baywood, LA; Glynda H. Hunt and husband Wayne of Zachary, LA; four grandchildren: Leah A. Humble, Ivy S. Humble, Austin J. Price, Lauren A. Price; and three great-grandchildren: Blayne C. Blevins, Dayton A. Buhler, and Christian I. Blevins. He is also survived by his previous wife and the mother of his sons, Betsy Chambers, and his in-laws, Dot and Harry Murray. He was preceded in death by his son, Brodie J. Alford; and his parents Prentiss Humble Sr. and Willie W. Humble. Pete was a natural athlete, who loved baseball and the outdoors, spending his time fishing and hunting. He was a mentor and teacher to many friends.
