Obituary for James Clinton Cupit Sr.
A loving, faithful, and steadfast husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was 72 years old, a resident of Baker and was formerly employed with Baton Rouge Steel for over 20 years. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at The Rock Church on Plank Road in Zachary. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Rocky Bezet and Pastor Butch Labauve. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Dentville, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandy Cupit; his children Julie Walker and husband Ronnie; James “Jimbo” Cupit Jr. and wife Lynnette; Kevin Cupit, Chris Cupit, and his wife's children, Aubrey Mizell, Jr. and wife Linda; Christina Mizell; Jennifer Kleinpeter and Leila Mizell. He was also survived by his sister, Sara Beasley, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Blanche Cupit, parents Hugh and Sara Cupit and son-in-law Timothy Kleinpeter. Pallbearers will be James Cupit, Jr., Kevin Cupit, Chris Cupit, Aubrey Mizell, Jr., Logan Edwards, Daniel Kleinpeter and Carson Cupit. He loved to serve others. He was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan. He looked forward every year to his Father’s Day Golf game with his sons.
