A cattleman and a farmer, he died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson. He was 79 years old and was retired from Georgia Pacific. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 9am until service at 1030am. Burial will be in Young Family Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his children, Traci Mills Baudin and husband, Earl J. Jr. of Houston, TX; Lyne Hyner Mills, Jr. LT COL USMC (ret.), and wife, Lauren Lanier Mills of Collierville, TN. Gina Mills Mullens and husband, Jeffrey E. of Princeton, WV . Former wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Tresco Mills, of Clinton. Sisters, Edith Carpenter and husband, Chelley, of McComb, MS; Rotha M. Cook, of Jackson, LA; Nina “Julie” Mills Abraham, of Zachary, brothers, Thomas L. Mills, IV and wife, Pat; of Zachary; Clyde H. Mills and wife, Kaye, of Jackson, LA; Jeannette M. Parnell, of Gonzales and Lulie J. Mills, of Prairieville. 6 grandchildren, Joshua A. Baudin, Daniel J. Baudin, Isabella M. Mullens, Margaret L. Mills, Sophia A. Mills, and Louis I. Mills. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter and his parents, Thomas L. and Rotha Mills, III. He has a B.S. in Animal Husbandry from McNeese State University where he was a member of the Rodeo Club. He was a US Army Veteran and worked at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the Veterinary Medicine Division.
