ONE CHRISTIAN MAN WHO CARED

I met Commissioner Odom many years ago, in the early 1990's. I was at the time the Assistant Director of Administratio n for another state agency which leased space from the Dept of Ag. He, his staff, and others always were very willing to listen to our concerns and helped our agency fully whenever we needed. My most memorable image of the Commissioner was that he was not afraid to get the job done and in fact I have seen him on many occasions climb on a dozer, a backhoe, an excavator, whatever, and level a plat of ground IN A SUIT. He was always a Christian man helping others and he loved his wife and family very much. I saw this first-hand for many years we worked together.  He has helped the surronding parishes and this state like few others.  My condolence to Ashley and her family.
