Violet “Peggy” Browning, 90, a resident of Zachary, LA and a former resident of Smithdale, MS, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. There will be a visitation on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA from 8:00 am until funeral services at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Port Hudson National Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Browning and niece Triche Mertz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Browning and her son Donald Browning. Peggy dedicated her life to the support of her son, Donald. She was his tireless caretaker for fifty years.
