Obituary for Nora Oline "Tops" Womack

Nora Oline “Tops” Womack, 91, longtime resident of Tucker Road, died on Thursday, March 23, 2023. She was the co-owner of Womack Farms LLC for over 70 years. She was a country girl who will be remembered for her delicious home cooking, world famous pound cake, kind heart, Christian faith, and mother to all. We will never be able to count the lives she touched with her never-idle hands. She will be greatly missed. There will be a visitation on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Galilee Baptist Church in Zachary from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by Rev. Brian Morgan and Rev. Danny Greig. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Lynn Womack Haughn of Naples, FL; Julie Ann Womack Austin (Mark); one son, James Cooper “Buckshot” Womack (Julia); two grandchildren: Justin Womack (Tori), Ashley Ann Austin; two great-grandchildren Grace and Kate Rose Womack; and cherished and devoted friend Terri Burch, all of Zachary, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel L. Womack; parents Gaither and L. C. Cooper, son-in-law Michael W. Haughn; brothers M.J. and Carl Cooper. Pallbearers will be Justin Womack, Aaron Goolsby, Joey, Randall, Jimmy, and William Cooper, Paul Lemoine, and Josh Gerage. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Fabre, Ricky Waldrop, Jimmy Womack, Chris Dubois, Chance Kirkland, and Mark Austin. She was a devoted member of the Galilee Baptist Church and the Plantation Cowbelles. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made tot the Galilee Cemetery Fund, 11050 Greenwell Springs-Port Hudson Road, Zachary, LA 70791. The family wishes to thank all special friends and family members who loved and supported her with visits, rides, food, and all their acts of kindness in her final years.
