Dr. Carl “Keith” Girod, a resident of Prairieville, died on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at his home. He was 70 years old and was the former owner and Dentist at Gonzales Dental Clinic. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 10am until service at 12pm. Burial will be in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, St. Francisville. Keith is survived by his wife of 48 ½ years, Elizabeth Dwyer Girod. A daughter, Joy Elizabeth Campbell and husband, Jason and a son, Joshua Keith Girod and wife, Renee. A brother, Barth Girod and wife, Jennifer. Grandchildren, Halle, Aaron and Lila Campbell and Christian, Juliet and Hunter Girod. Nieces and nephews, Louis, Alex, Kevin and Sean Dwyer and Shelley Girod, Megan Bonin, Heath Girod and Heather Girod. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Lois Girod. Pallbearers will be Charles Stewart, Lynn Johnson, Barth Girod, Louis Dwyer, Kevin Dwyer, Lester Lemoine, Rod Lawrence and Jerry Johnson. Keith graduated from LSU with degrees in Zoology and Chemistry in 1974 and graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 1978. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the beauty of the Feliciana woodlands.
