Obituary for Ronald John Rabalais

Ronald John Rabalais, 85, a native of New Orleans and Walker, and a resident of Clinton, LA, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at his home. He was retired from Global Industries, where he worked for forty years. He also served with the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office in his later years. There will be a visitation at the Bluff Creek Baptist Church on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by Rev. Cole Permenter. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-six years, Janet Harris Rabalais; three daughters, Grace Eleanor Russell and husband Brad Russell, Rachel Harrison Aucoin and husband Dennis Aucoin, Rhonda Harrison Herrod and husband McDuffie Herrod; three sons, Bruce Wayne Rabalais, James Anthony Curry and wife Theresa Curry, Richard Stanley Harrison, Jr.; two sisters, Gayle Canatella and husband Donald, and Althea Aubry; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Davis and Salvador Davis; birth father Buck Russell; daughter Mitzi Harrison Doster; and sister Cynthia Phillips. Pallbearers will be McDuffie Herrod II, Jonathan Herrod, Ryan Nanney, Spencer Hatch, Richard Harrison III, Robert Harrison, Rossie Harrison and Tyler Morel. Ron had a strong work ethic. If you were not (at least) 2 hours early, you were late. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved a good story and had many to share. He also loved playing music on his guitar and singing for friends and family. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
