Brenda Gail McGowan​ Sagely​, 63, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 21, 2023. Visitation will be at Second Baptist Church, Jackson on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 10:00 am until service time at 12​ ​Noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. ​She was a resident of Jackson, LA and born in Monroe, LA. Brenda is survived by her children, Jennifer Gilmore(Travis) of Denham Springs, Patsy Sanders(Danny) of Jackson, Calvin Sagely(Lyndsey) of Liberty, MS and Anthony Cormier of Jackson, sisters, Judy Conerly of Jackson, Sylvia Ebbs of Denham Springs, and Vivian McGowan of St. Francisville, grandchildren, Nathan Sagely, Hunter Sagely, Benton Sagely, Makenzie Sagely, Addie Sagely, Kaylynn Sanders, Daniel "DJ" Sanders III, Jasmine Sanders, Jordan Sanders, Jude Gilmore and Ella Gilmore, great grandchildren, Naceigh Sagely, Stella Sagely and Payton Sagely and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
​Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sagely, parents, Allen and Modine McGowan, brother, Michael McGowan and sister, Deborah Miller.​
Pallbearers will be Travis and Jude Gilmore, Anthony Cormier, Danny Sanders and DJ Sanders III and Calvin, Hunter and Nathan Sagely.
Honorary pallbearers are Benton Sagely and Jordan Sanders.
Brenda attended Jackson High School. She was known for helping others and trying to make people laugh. She loved her family. During the last weeks of her life she found peace reading her bible and daily devotions.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
