Obituary for Jesse LaFayette Means Jr.

Jesse LaFayette Means, Jr., 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 5, 2023. He was a resident of St. Francisville and born in Shreveport, LA.
Visitation will be at St. Francisville United Methodist Church on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 8:00 am until service time at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Mike Clark, Rev. Daniel Hixon and Fr. Craig Dalferes with Masonic service to follow conducted by Paul Martin. Burial will be in Grace Episcopal Cemetery, St. Francisville.
Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Randel Means, his adored children, Laura Heinze(Aaron) of Pleasanton, TX, Jesse Means, III(Nicole) of St. Francisville and Christopher Means(Molly) of Baton Rouge, brother, William Means(Sheila) of Indian Trail, NC and mostly loved grandchildren, Jesse Means, IV, Cecile Means and Alice Means. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Means, Sr. and Maude Means and grandson, Max Heinze.
Jesse graduated from Bossier High School in 1961. He completed undergraduate studies at Centenary College of Louisiana and seminary at Southern Methodist University. Jesse obtained his law degree from Louisiana State University and worked and retired from the West Feliciana Parish District Attorney's Office with over 30 years of service. He served as town attorney of St. Francisville for over 40 years and was a minister with the United Methodist church for over 50 years. He was an active minister at the time of his passing. Churches served included Gibsland United Methodist Church, Tunica United Methodist Church, St. Francisville United Methodist Church, Villa Feliciana Methodist Church, Concord Methodist Church and New Hope Methodist Church. Jesse served as a Scout Master with Boy Scouts Troop 61, served as Civil Defense Director for West Feliciana Parish and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Jesse was a devoted servant of the Lord and will be missed deeply by all those who knew and loved him.
