Martha “Marty” Cavin Bevis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, “Mita”, and sister, died on Monday, January 23, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was 75 years old and a resident of Zachary. She was a former dispatcher with Zachary Police Department. Memorial visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 9am until service at 11am. Marty is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jerry Ray Bevis. Three daughters, Tina Morgan McMorris and husband, Randall; Shera Morgan Wales and husband, Brandon; and Wendy Morgan Pierce and husband, Larry; a very special niece, Teresa Y. Ball and husband, Keith. Sister, Kathleen C. Yllander; brother Glynn W. “Sonny” Cavin, Jr. and wife, Jackie, sister-in-law Donna B. Carroll, along with many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Eleven grandchildren, Dustin McMorris, and fiancée Erin, Brent McMorris, Jeremy McMorris, and fiancée Michelle, Garrett Glynn McMorris, Weston Wales, Samantha Wales, Tyler Boyd, and fiancée Tori Mac, Marlee Boyd Kirby, and husband Tate, Daniel Pierce, Bailey Pierce and Riley Pierce. A great grandson, Easton Knox Kirby, due in March 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glynn and Janet Cavin, an infant brother, Anthony Cavin, brother-in-law, Otto Yllander, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Wanda Bevis, nephew Stephen Morgan, and nephew Chip Cavin. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
