Lt. Col. Douglas W. Levet, ARMY, RET, (76) of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 6, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emile X. and Emmadel P. Levet. Born in Bayou Sale, he graduated from Hanson Memorial High and LSU, served in the US Army and Army Reserve for 30 years and was a real estate broker for 44 years. Doug is survived by his wife, Brenda Pearson and his children, Ashley L. Bradford (Donald), Scott Levet (Ashley), Haley Levet and Hannah Levet. Stepdaughter, Rebecca Abrams. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. He leaves behind 9 siblings, Donna Sutherland, Emile Levet (Wanda), Ronnie Levet (Rita), Albert Levet, Judy Prejeant (John), Barbara Hendee (Martin), Ellen Anne Still (Philip), Bill Levet (Cori), and Joan Craft (Dale), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug lived his last years at Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, where he was loved and cared for by the loving staff. They said their goodbyes with a beautiful military send-off. A Celebration of Life will be held at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 11am until service at 1pm. Please wear purple and gold, since Doug loved his Tigers.
