Hilda “Jean” Miller Duncan, 81, entered into the arms of her loving father on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was born on September 15, 1941, to her parents, Robert and Melba Miller. She grew up in Washington Parish and was a 1960 graduate of Franklinton High School. In 1969, she moved to East Feliciana Parish where she worked as a security guard at Feliciana Forensic Facility for 25 years. In her younger days, she was well known as a talented singer/song writer. After becoming a Christian, her musical talents were spent serving her Lord and Savior. She is survived by 1 son, Keith Wood (wife Cindi) of St. Francisville, LA. 2 daughters, Tammy Johnson (husband Douglas) and Kathy Wade (husband James), all of Clinton, LA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Kenny Johnson (wife Natasha), of Zachary, LA; Kristen Landry (husband Steve) of Clinton, LA; Kaylan Reames (husband Trace) of St. Francisville, LA; Kimmi Jackson (husband Zane) of Zachary, LA; Matt Wood (wife Savanna) of Centreville, MS; Marcus Wood (friend Angelina Hardin), of St. Francisville, LA; James Wade (wife DeeShae) of Watson, LA, and Rebecca Miller (husband Casimir) of Hammond, LA. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren: Keilan, Kaiden, and Kiley (fiancee’ Ethan Veillion) Johnson, Abby, Katey, and Grafton Landry, Hudson Reames, Paisleigh, Layla, Tyler, and Alex Jackson, Damien and Aria Wood, Evelyn Wade, and Camille and Calvin Miller. She is also survived by special great-great nieces, Jordyn and Baylee Johnson, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by 1 sister, Bobbie Coyle, and 1 brother, Russell Miller, both of Mt. Hermon, LA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Donald Ray Duncan Sr. and her parents.
Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 from 2pm until service at 4pm. Many thanks to the staff from Hospice, especially her nurse, Lauren, for administering care to her. Also, many thanks to the staff at Grace Health and Rehab.
