Obituary for Luis Felipe del Solar

Luis Felipe del Solar died peacefully at this home surrounded by his wife Carolina, his sons Felipe and Lukas and close family members on the evening of January 2, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lima Peru on June 24, 1970, he learned at a very early age that golf was his passion.
His accomplishments in golf were numerous, representing Peru in many international championships, earning him a golf scholarship to LSU. In his four years representing LSU, he became a die-hard lifelong Tiger fan.

After graduation, he returned to Peru where he met the love of his life, Carolina Woodman, they married and moved to Florida. After the birth of their first son, they moved to St. Francisville to raise their family and for Felipe to enter the financial services industry, a profession that he practiced with integrity for 15 years. They found a home and a welcoming community in the Felicianas where they made friends who became their extended family. He enjoyed, golfing, grilling, fishing, spending time outdoors and treasured time with his loved ones.

Felipe was a humble and kind person with a wicked sense of humor who was loved by everyone he touched.

He is survived by his wife, Carolina, sons Felipe and Lukas, parents Luis Felipe and Veronica, brother Jose Antonio and wife Giannina and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a funeral mass on Friday January 6, 2023, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in St. Francisville at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hunters for the Hungry, founded by his dear friend Richard Campbell. www.h4hla.org
