Obituary for Norman Joseph Bercegeay

Norman J. Bercegeay, a resident of Olive Branch, LA, died on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. He was a former owner of Industrial Coatings & Contractors. He was a native of Gonzales, LA. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. and then on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 2:00 pm until funeral services at 3:00 pm, conducted by Rev. Rusty Bowser and Rev. Danny Greig. Burial will be at Redwood Cemetery in Slaughter. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Leila Young Bercegeay; daughter Shantel Braud and her husband Dwight “Doddy” Braud; step-daughter Elena Coffman and husband Dale; step-son Douglas LaFargue and wife Rachel; sister Sherlyn Powers and husband David; brother Linen “Winky” Bercegeay and wife Catherine; brother Kevin Bercegeay and wife Vickie; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Herman and Ruth Bercegeay; son Jeffery Bercegeay; and brother Ronald Bercegeay. Pallbearers will be Derrik Bercegeay, Darian Bercegeay, Dakota Bercegeay, Grant Coffman, Brandon Vincent, and Matt Greig. Honorary pallbearer will be Kristin Robertson. He proudly served in the US Army National Guard. He was a cattleman and he enjoyed classic cars and LSU Sports. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project. The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Brierre and his staff and the staff at the Carpenter House of Baton Rouge for their excellent care.
