Donnie L. Morgan, 62, a resident of Denham Springs, LA, died on Monday, August 1, 2022. He previously worked as a safety manager and a sheriff’s deputy for East Baton Rouge Parish. There will be a visitation at the Zachary Church of Christ, 3500 39th Street on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10:00am until funeral services at 12:00noon, conducted by Bryan Kirby. Burial will be at Louisiana National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tracey L. Morgan; two daughters: Jessica Ann Valenti; and Tina Marie Morgan; two step-daughters: Anna Rachelle Cox and husband Christopher; Jessica Marie Rachal and wife Ashley; and one brother Tommie Lee Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Lourie Morgan and Irma Lee Morgan. Pallbearers will be Michael Greenblatt, Jeff Denham, John Anderson, William Allyn Thompson, Jr., Kerry LeBlanc, and Christopher Cox. He enjoyed boating and he loved his catahoulas. He spent many years honing skills as a firearms expert and fancied himself a singer. He loved music. He proudly served as a Quartermaster in the US Navy. A special thank you to the phenomenal doctors and nurses at the Baton Rouge General Hospital-Bluebonnet ICU-C. The care shared with Donnie will be forever remembered. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Zachary Church of Christ.
