Obituary for William David "W.D." Spillman

W.D. Spillman, 91, a lifelong resident of Spillman, LA passed away on July 31, 2022. He was a lifelong cattleman and retired Tax Assessor for West Feliciana Parish with 20 years of service.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Francisville United Methodist Church from 9:00 am until service time at 12noon conducted by Rev. Mike Clark and Rev. Daniel Hixon. Burial will follow in Upper Place Cemetery, St. Francisville. W.D. is survived by his wife, Nadine Tanner, children, Sara Ferguson, Laura Schade(Eric), Brian Spillman(Amy) and Don Spillman(Heather), step children, Patricia Dooley(George), Lake Tolbert(Nancy), Moose Tolbert(Patti) and Richard Tolbert(Darlene), 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Watson Spillman, grandson, Garrison Tolbert, parents, Llewellyn and Alice Spillman, brother, Llewellyn Spillman Jr., and sister, Helen Miller.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Tanner, Andy Miller, Ben Dooley, Benjamin Tolbert, Matt Tolbert, Mason Spillman, Barrow Clement and Bennett Clement. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Tolbert.
W.D. graduated from Julius Freyhan High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of SF United Methodist Church, LA Cattleman Association, longtime board member of Tri Parish Coop and Feliciana Farm Bureau.
His loves were his family, his cattle, his garden, raising and propagating camellias and telling stories of his life in West Feliciana Parish.
