Obituary for William Earl "Billy" Garig

William "Billy" Earl Garig, 81, a resident of Norwood, went to his heavenly home on July 7, 2022.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Wilson, from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Marc Gregoire. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Norwood.
He is survived by one son, Noah E. Garig(Misty), brothers, Wayne Garig (Kathy ), Fletcher Garig (Peggy), sister in law, Burnice Garig, grandchildren, Megan Garig Snyder(Jordon), Ethan Garig, Jordyn Garig. Great grandchildren, Luke and Rose Snyder and stepchildren, Steven Weems(Cyndi), Donna Hodge(Mark), Carla Scarpitti(Mike), Timmy Weems(Shelia), Deborah Weems-Vine, daughter in law, Victoria Garig and fur baby, Justice Lou Garig.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lotta McCombs, son, SGT Scott Earl Garig USMC, father, William Marion Garig and mother, Sylvia Edith Edens Garig, sister and her husband, Marion Garig Payne(Robert), brothers and their wives, Donald Garig, Bobby Garig, George Garig(Edna), Mickey Garig, and step daughter, Joy Miller
Pallbearers will be Ethan Garig, Chris Garig, Jimmy Garig, Kevin Garig, Johnny Garig, and Craig Payne. Honorary pallbearers are Bo Garig Sr., Ryan Peterson, Dusty Garig, Jordon Snyder, Henry Garig and Tom Peterson.
He was a long time member of the Boilermakers Union helping build power plants, refineries, factories and mills in several different states and particularly here in Louisiana using his skills as a welder, fitter, iron worker and boilermaker. Billy served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Wilson for many years. Please make memorial donations to First Baptist Church of Wilson.
