Obituary for Charlie "Gene" Westbrook
Charlie "Gene" Westbrook, 79, a resident of Slaughter, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was retired from Canadian National Railroad. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Slaughter First Baptist Church, from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Feliciana Rest Cemetery, Slaughter.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anita Bailey Westbrook, daughter, Melissa Gamble, sister, Lynn Hart(Barney), brother, Bobby Westbrook(Janice), granddaughter, Kaci Gamble, great grandchildren, Kaley Brunson, Aliyah Gamble, Grace Hensley, Aubri Hensley and Emma Hartley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Donis Westbrook, sister, Cookie McKenzie, grandson, Christopher Hensley, grandson in law, Mark Stephens and son in law, John Hensley. Gene was a longtime member of Slaughter First Baptist Church. He had a passion for growing his tomatoes. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
