Leona Ann Samuel, “Ann”, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. There will be a visitation at Plains Presbyterian Church on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and then on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 9:00 am until funeral services at 10:00 am, conducted by Rev. Campbell Silman. Burial will be at Young Family Cemetery. She is survived by four daughters: Amy Dunaway and husband Daryl; Edie Jagielski and husband Albert; Jill McGraw; Molly Turner and husband Buddy; one son: W. Brook Samuel and wife Sharon; three sisters: Sandra Bates and husband Billy; Lynda Page; and Missy Burton and husband Larry; brother Leon Ellzey and wife Brenda; twelve grandchildren: Thomas Dunaway, Daryl Dunaway Jr., David Dunaway, T. Brook Samuel, Stephen Samuel, Steven Jagielski, Stacy Page, Jason McGraw, Chris McGraw, Cody McGraw, Megan Turner, and Macie Turner; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband T.N. “Sonny” Samuel; father Leon J. Ellzey; mother Gladys Ellzey; father-in-law T.N. “Tom” Samuel II; mother-in-law Lula Mae Samuel. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. She was a graduate of Zachary High School; a member of the DAR; Society D’Etude Book Club; Bridge Club; WIC; Demco Board of Directors from 2005-2018.
