Obituary for Blue Baker

Reggie "Blue" Baker was born on July 14th, 1948 in Baton Rouge, LA. He passed peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, June 20, 2022 surrounded by his family at 73 years old. He was a graduate of Istrouma High School and lived in Clinton (Bluff Creek), LA. He retired after 32 years from ExxonMobil BRPO. He was a beloved man who stopped to help anyone and everyone, even on his busiest of days. To many, he was THE person you went to when no one else could figure out how to fix-it! You would often find him tinkering away with greasy hands working on anything from big heavy machinery down to the intricate details of repairing guns. Visitation will be at Fellowship Church 1555 Mount Pleasant Rd. Zachary, LA 70791 Friday, June 24th, 2022. Visitation from 9am-11. Funeral service at 11am. Blue is survived by his wife Betty of 43 years, who he affectionately called his "Red Head". Son Layne Baker with wife Brandi and grandchildren Gabriel Baker, Billy Barton Baker, Layna Baker, Carmen Tatum and Cory Tatum. Son Chad Baker, Son Dustin Baker with wife Felicia and grandson Beau Blue Baker. Brother, Lester Baker, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved and adored Paw Paw Blue. He is preceded in death by his parents Emerson and Louise Dougherty of Central, La. and in laws Jimmie and Flora Dunaway of Clinton, La. Pallbearers Gabriel & Billy Baker, Beau Baker, Layna Baker, Cory Tatum, Carmen Tatum, Dan Bateman, and Butch Hornsby. Special thanks to all the nurses/staff at BRG ICU-C for their care.
