Gloria Bush Kelly, 83, a lifelong native of Slaughter, LA, died on Saturday, May 14, 2022. She served as a US Postal Carrier for over 30 years. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by Pastor Timmy Straight. She is survived by three daughters: Karen Herring and husband Melton of Riceville, TN, Bethanie Nelson of Slaughter, Jennifer Comeaux and husband Kirk of Slaughter; eight grandchildren: Kelly Wall, Brandi Millican (Billy), Hollie Nelson (Shannon Devall), Nikki Boeneke (Eric), Randall Herring (Chelsea), Lauren Vincent (Kelly), Chase Comeaux (Dani), Ory Comeaux (Stephanie); twenty great-grandchildren: Kade Wall, Kole Wall, Katie Wall, Riley Millican, Bella Millican, Tucker Millican, Dylan Devall, Lilly Devall, William Boeneke (Haley), Kali Cortez (Brennan), Kylie Herring, Mackenzie Herring, Ross Spencer, Evah Reeves, Benjamin Vincent, Aubrie Vincent, Hayes Comeaux, Briggs Comeaux, Aiden Comeaux, Caroline Comeaux; two great-great-grandchildren: Hadley Boeneke and Sawyer Cortez. She was also survived by her special friend Jane Brashier and “adopted daughters” Karen Brashier Williams and Mary Dufour. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin M. Kelly, parents Jack and Marine Douglass, and Wilbert Bush, daughter and son in law Glenda Kelly Knight and Charles “Porky” Knight, and brother Dan W. Bush. Pallbearers will be Melton Herring, Kade Wall, Kirk Comeaux, Randall Herring, William Boeneke, and Eric Boeneke.
