Eugene Conrad, “Poppa”, 61, a resident of Slaughter, LA, died on Thursday, May 12, 2022. There will be a visitation on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA, from 10:00 am until funeral services at 12:00 noon, conducted by Bro. Joe Hutto and Dr. Ronald Aguillard. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Theresa Leet Conrad; three sons, Michael Conrad and wife Sarah of New Roads, Chad Conrad and wife Morgan of Zachary, Jeremy Conrad of Slaughter; his mother, Yvonne Lanier of Baker, LA; one sister, Madaline Calcote of Walker; four brothers: Joseph Clyde “J.C.” Conrad Jr. and wife Joann of Watson, Lester Conrad and wife Opel of Watson, Creig Conrad and wife Keitha of Kentwood, Jeffrey Barker and wife Katherine of Denham Springs; fourteen grandchildren: Victor, Jacie, Brooklin, Hanna, Devyn, Jay, Tanner, Tyler, Jackson, Jasper, Easton, Paxton, Chloe, and Ace; great-grandchildren: Evie Bleu, Dawson, and soon-to-be Ryder. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Clyde Conrad Sr., stepmother Minnie L. Conrad, brother Marty Conrad, nephew Lance Corporal Taylor Conrad, and niece Storey Nicole Conrad. Pallbearers will be Michael Conrad, Chad Conrad, Jeremy Conrad, Laramey Leet, Justin Mullens, Timmy Spangler, Jay Conrad, Tanner Conrad, and Tyler Conrad. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Conrad, Joe Beavers, Jeremy Beavers, Larry Mullens, Jason Conrad, Damien Davidson. He attended Pride High School in Pride, LA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and rock collecting. He was often seen riding his Harley. But his most precious time was the time spent with his loving family. There will be a gathering following services at Redwood Baptist Church in Slaughter for food and fellowship.
