W. Burl Carpenter was born May 17, 1936 and went to see our Lord May 11, 2022. He is survived by 2 children: Barbara Barnes and Derek Carpenter and wife Jennifer; 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Jimmie Carpenter. Burl was known to be a working man with 27 plus years at the Paper Mill. He was an extreme athlete that conquered many sports with Track & Field being his masterpiece in hurdles and the high jump. He set records in the high jump at Southeastern University that held for many years. His final words were “I’m at peace, I’m ready to be with my Lord.” The family would like to thank all the employees at Oakwood Village and Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary, LA for their extreme care with a special thank you to Mr. Ed Douglas.
