Stanley D. McMillan, 74, a resident of St. Francisville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 6, 2022 at his sister's home surrounded by family after a short battle with brain cancer. He was a retired teacher from Palm Beach County School System in Lake Worth, FL. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 noon conducted by Dr. Joe Nesom. Stanley is survived by his sister, Caroline A. Howard of Slaughter, niece, Heather L. Cazes (Ralph) of Ethel, nephew, Jeffrey D. Gentry (Melissa) of Grayson, two great nieces, Mary Elizabeth Cazes of Destrehan and Zoey Lynn Gentry of Grayson, special friends, JoAnn Sullivan, Jedidiah and Sally Jezek and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beatrice McMillan. Stanley graduated from Lake Worth High School in lake Worth, FL, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University, taught high school Physical and Marine Biology Sciences, registered Scuba Diver and instructor, was a Master Gardener and an active member of the National Bromeliad Society and the Baton Rouge Cactus and Succulent Society winning many awards for his plants and being the Keynote speaker at several of each Societal group meetings, a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jackson in Jackson, LA. The family would like to thank his primary care physician, Dr. J. David West, his neurologist, Dr. Gerard Dynes, his neurosurgeon, Dr. Paul Waguespack, his radiation oncologist Dr. Maurice King, his neuro oncologist, Dr. Jon Olson, the staff at the Neuromedical Center and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for their treatment and care management plan, his home health nurse, Jenny, Physical Therapist, Alicia, Occupational Therapist, Shannon, caregivers, Ms. Lizzy, "Q", Sharnell and Tatyana, his hospice nurses, Stephanie, Jamie, Lori and hospice CNA Yolanda for all of their compassion and care through this difficult time. Special thank you to Jason and Ginger Ory for the special gift given to Stanley in his final days.
