Obituary for Sheryl Ann Simpson (Parrish)
Sheryl Ann Parrish Simpson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved the Lord and joined him on May 4, 2022, at the age of 67.
Sheryl was born on November 9, 1954, to Bob and Norma Parrish in Rockford, IL. She was the oldest of three (3) children and graduated from Guilford High School in Rockford, IL in 1972.
She moved to Arlington, Texas where she attended Bethel Assembly of God and worked as a librarian at Texas Christian Academy where her two (2) children, Ryan and Paula, attended school.
She met Rick Simpson, fell in love, and moved to Zachary, LA in 2007, and they married on the beach on April 24, 2009.
She loved to travel, especially to Texas to see Paula and granddaughter, Avery. She was an avid gardener who loved her tomato plants and have had dreams of one day having her own homestead. When not working in her garden, she spent countless hours researching genealogy and sitting at home with her dog Zeus, the Great Pyrenees she always wanted.
She was selfless, always putting other’s needs above her own and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Preceded in death by father, Robert “Bob” Parrish and son, Ryan Robert Cheingthong.
Survived by: husband, Rick Simpson, mother, Norma Parrish, daughters, Paula Ledet, Sherri Bolden, and Tisha Amy(Charles), brothers, Randy Parrish(Diane) and Rod Parrish(Julie) , 7 grandchildren, Avery Ledet, Jordan Simpson, Buddy Davis, Jalen Bolden, Jamari Bolden, Hunter Amy, Hannah Amy, 1 great grandchild, Madden Jude Simpson, 2 nieces, Sarah Parrish and Tori Garwood and 2 nephews, Nic Parrish and Josh Parrish.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 10: 00 am until service time at 12:00 noon.
Burial will follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary.
