Obituary for Donna Laverne Johnston (Britton)
Donna Britton Sumpter Johnston, 86, a resident of Jackson, passed away peacefully at her home on May 3, 2022. She retired from the accounting department in 2013 from LSU. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. There will be a 10:00 am graveside service on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary.
Donna was survived by her daughter, Teresa Lacost of Jackson, son, Robert Sumpter(Kathy) of Morrison, OK, eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Billy Joe Johnston, sons, Rickey Joe Johnston and Ronald Sumpter, parents, Clyde and Alma Mae Britton, granddaughter, Raven Johnston and grandson Michael Sumpter.
She was an avid antique collector and seamstress. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge for all the care given to her in her final days. Please make memorial donations to St. Jude's Children Research.
