Obituary for Lena Bizette "Maw Maw" Gonzales

Lena Bizette Gonzales, a resident of St. Francisville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022 at her home. She was 66 years old and was a native of New Roads. Memorial visitation will be at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am conducted by Fr. Brad Doyle. She is survived by her partner of 10 years, Kevin Ford. 2 daughters, Amanda Tate and husband, Chance and Kaci Gonzales and fiancé, Wade all of St. Francisville, and a son, Hunter Gonzales and partner, Anna of New Roads and 8 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lena Mae Bizette, and a daughter, Christy Patterson Duncan. Lena was lead female vocalist for popular 1970’s band, “The Cheney Creek Band” and had the voice of an Angel. Lena was also a Traiteur, commonly known as a Cajun Healer, and said the Rosary every day. Her faith was huge. She touched people's lives in ways we will always remember.
