Alethea McLean Colvin, 96, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Sunday, April 24, 2022. She was a native of Bunnelevel, NC. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Zachary from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by her son, Dr. Les Colvin. Burial will be at Azalea Rest Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Thomas Adams and husband Nick of Zachary, Lori Colvin Mottesheard and husband Sam of Tuscaloosa, AL; three sons: James Thomas, Lloyd Colvin and wife Shelly of Baton Rouge, LA, Les Colvin and wife DeLisa of Zachary, LA; ten grandchildren: Robert, Chris, and Kevin Thomas, Eric Adams, Sarah Thigpen, Jeff Colvin, Jennifer Harris, Kimberly Snuggs, Ryan Mottesheard, and Katie Mottesheard; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Olla McLean, her first husband Harold J. Thomas Sr., second husband Donald L. Colvin, grandson Rich Adams, and daughter-in-law Glenda Thomas. Alethea was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Zachary where she taught Sunday school, kindergarten, and was an active choir member. She loved her family and she and Don loved traveling and camping together. Special thanks to Tamara Dayton and Kaley Hill and to the staff at The Lodge at Lane and Oakwood Village.
