Edwin E. Johnson, “Buddy”, 85, a resident of Jackson, LA, died on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was retired, after working for over 30 years as a social worker, at East Louisiana State Hospital. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 3:00 pm until funeral services at 5:00 pm. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann M. Johnson; two sons: Douglas Johnson (Tammy) of Clinton, LA; Terral Johnson of Jackson, LA; six grandchildren: Kenny Johnson (Tasha); Kristen Landry (Steve); Jonathan Johnson; Alaina Johnson; Joshuah Johnson (Abby); and Zachary Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren: Kiley, Keilan, Kaiden, Karsyn, Kinslee, Jordyn, Baylee, Gage and Kade Johnson, Katey and Abrianna Landry, and Leia Carnighan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Alta Johnson; a brother, Claude Grant, two sisters: Dorothy Grant and Robbie Palazzo, and a son, Jarrel Johnson. He served in the US Army. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson. He was an Eagle Scout and a Professional Scout who officiated over numerous Eagle Boards of Review. Buddy was an America First Patriot who installed and distributed American flags to neighbors and members of the community. He served with the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was always there to celebrate their accomplishments in life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to your favorite charity.
