Obituary for Early Parnell Jenkins

Early Parnell Jenkins, 80, a resident of Bluff Creek, LA, died on Saturday, September 4, 2021. There will be a visitation at Bluff Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 1:00 pm until funeral services at 3:00 pm. He is survived by two daughters: Karen Day and her husband Mark Day of Clinton, LA; Missie Harville and husband Shawn Harville of Quitman, LA; two sons: Jeff Jenkins and his wife Jessica of Bluff Creek; Mark Jenkins and his wife Jennifer of Clinton; one brother, Bennie Paul Jenkins and his wife Rhonda of Greenwell Springs; twelve grandchildren: April Day, Mark Day Jr., Matthew Day, Ashley Triche, Hunter Jenkins, Mendy Jenkins, Kalli Forbes, Jed Jenkins, Zant Gurney, Skylar Gurney, Brooklyn Gurney, Maddie Harville; and four great-grandchildren: Benton Triche, Renley Triche, Black Ledbetter, Charlotte Forbes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Davis Jenkins; parents Claude and Vesta Jenkins; four sisters, Olivia Smith, Claudine Moore, Jean Felps, and Diane Naul. Pallbearers will be Bennie Paul Jenkins, Mark Day Jr., Matthew Day, Hunter Jenkins, Jed Jenkins, Cody Forbes, and Cavin Pritchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Zant Gurney, Benton Triche, John Ledbetter, and Whit Harvey. After his retirement, he enjoyed grinding grits and cornmeal at his own business, Parnell Grits Mill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bluff Creek Methodist Church, Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, or the charity of your choice.
