Obituary for Robert Lee Jackson

Robert Lee Jackson, “R.L.”, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 10, 2021. There will be a visitation on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 10:00 am until funeral services at 12:00 noon at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA. Burial will be at Feliciana Rest Cemetery in Slaughter, LA. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jeanne Verna Jackson; one daughter, Tywana Lambert (Chris); two sons, Robert W. Jackson (Annette); and Randall S. Jackson (Stacy); one sister, Ruby Jeanette McDaniel (Paul); one brother Ralph Wayne Jackson (Addye); eight grandchildren: Frank Thomas Moore III (Courtney); Tiffany Ann Lambert; Lisa Lambert Gros (Bryan); Patrick Anthony LeBlanc (Ashley); Jessica Loretta Jackson (Caleb); Sennett Jackson (Heather); Lane Malcolm Jackson; Lucy M’Leigh Jackson (Dalton); and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous step-children and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Peggy Hemphill Jackson; brother Joe W. Jackson; and parents J.W. and Opel Jackson. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. He was a wood-craftsman by trade. He was the co-owner of Cypress Shed Furniture. He built beautiful furniture by hand, in the old tradition. He was the oldest member of the SMR (Southern Mud Riders) club, where he was affectionately known as “Pops.”
