Obituary for Carson Linton

On June 7th , 2021, a man that loved his God, family and country went to rejoice with God in heaven. Carson Linton passed away at the age of 88. He grew up in Columbia, LA and after serving in the Army during the Korean War and finishing college at NLU, he moved his family first to Mississippi for a few years before moving to Baker in 1966.

During his many years in Baker, Carson and his wife and family were members of Northside Baptist Church. And after Northside was a member of First Baptist in Zachary . He served as a volunteer Baker police officer for over 30 years and spent many years supporting Baker Little League baseball as a coach and umpire. He worked and retired from Allied Chemical/Exxon. He always had a garden; his go-to place to be close to God and was always happy to share the bounty of his garden that God blessed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Olleal Linton and his 4 children: Malissa and Heber Patterson, Sarah Linton, Doyle and Jan Linton, and Mitchel Linton. Grandchildren: Brandi Covington, Wade Patterson, Lucas Patterson, Carson Cappo, Callie Creighton, Mathew Linton, Brooke Knaps, Andrew Linton, Great Grandchildren: My-kel Patterson, Katherine Riggs, Alexis Hay, Aidan Patterson, Nathan Patterson, Micah Cappo, Noah Cappo, Jonah Cappo, Cruz Creighton, Savoy Linton, Bristol Linton, Kinsley Knaps, Kage Knaps, Kash Knaps, Arrow Linton, Baker Linton, Brother Donnie Harris and sisters Connie Smith, Hattie Strickland and Barbara Ferrington. Preceded in death by his mother and step father Bell and George Harris, father Conard Linton, brother Pirl Linton, sisters Ruth Tharp and Jean Dunn.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Thursday, June 10, 2021, visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Zachary, from 10:00 am until service time at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow at LA National Cemetery, Zachary.
