Charles Jeffrey “Doodie” Holcombe

"A joyful heart is good medicine...” Proverbs 17:22. To know Doodie Holcombe was to know pure joy. He brought endless smiles and laughter to everyone who had the opportunity to know and love him. Doodie was born on May 30, 1962, in Fort Payne, Alabama. He entered the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 15, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children.
Doodie was an HVAC technician with Star Service for over a decade. He was an avid fan of music and fishing, but most of all, he loved his family.
Doodie is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Jane and Bob Snow; Sister, Melanie Holcombe; and father-in-law, Harold Booty.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Holcombe; son and daughter-in-law, CJ and Meagan Holcombe; daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Andrew Zera; grandsons, Drake and Case Holcombe; father, James Holcombe; sister, Valerie Weems; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vergie and Jimmy Brashier; sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, Fonda and Darren Funderburk, Rhonda and Kevin Beauchamp and Kim and Warren Cavalier; and many nieces and nephews.
Pall Bearers will be Warren Cavalier, Kevin Beauchamp, Darren Funderburk, Braden Owens, Alex Funderburk and Jason Allen.
Visitation will be held at Galilee Baptist Church on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5-8 pm, and Friday, May 21, 2021 from 9-11 am followed by services at 11 am which will be officiated by Scotty Owens. Interment at Galilee Baptist Church immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude.
