Mary Elisabeth Rioux, born in Goldsboro, North Carolina and resident of Baker, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the age of 65. Mary was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She cared for animals and always had a deep love for her dogs, especially Lady. Mary is survived by her husband, James Rioux of Baker, LA; daughter, Karen Maples Greer and husband, Bradley of Leland, NC; grandsons, Isaiah and Daniel Greer of Leland, NC; stepdaughters, Jessica Rioux of Rougon, LA, Annie Rioux of Baton Rouge, LA; stepson, Travis Rioux of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Peggy Short of Goldsboro, NC. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, William and Esther Percise. A memorial to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (4901 Harding St, Baker, LA 70714) on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Mary’s honor to the Baton Rouge Food Bank (www.brfoodbank.org).
