Obituary for Rosa Mae Prewitt Morris

Morris, Rosa Mae Prewitt, died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was 86 years old and a native of Jackson, LA. She retired from East Feliciana Parish School Board after 30 years of employment.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 12 noon until service at 2:00 pm
at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. Zachary, LA. Burial will follow service at Wales Cemetery, Greensburg, LA.

She is survived by 2 daughters and 4 sons; Beth Smith (Boobee) of Jackson, LA, Babs Hudson (Skip) of Zachary, LA, David Morris (Janice) of Zachary, LA, Donald Morris (Debbie) of Jackson, LA, Cliff Morris of Jackson, LA and Victor Morris (Laura) of Conroe, TX. 11 Grandchildren; Chris Morris (Lisa), Crystal Maples (Kit), Nick Morris (Adrienne), Craig Morris, Andrea Bordelon (Ritchie), Holly Baker (Chris), Dustin Smith, Gage Morris, Lauren Hudson, Katherine Price (Joey) and Carlyn Hudson, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years J.D. Morris, parents Pearl and Wilford Prewitt, 2 brothers T.W. and Walter Prewitt, sister Katherine Auer and sister-in-law Mary Prewitt.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

She loved people, enjoyed traveling, camping and promoting Bluegrass music. She traveled many years with her husband to Bluegrass Festivals and loved her Bluegrass family dearly. She never met a stranger. Very special thank you to Crystal Maples, Lyndsey Bordelon and Zelda Lee for their assistance in Mama’s care. Also, to Cardinal Hospice, Lorraine Davis and Rev. Jimmy Womack for their kindness and compassion.
