Curtis “Tubby” Smith, died on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021. He was 64 years old and was retired from Georgia Pacific. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 from 9am until service time at 12pm conducted by his longtime friend, W.D. Simmons. Burial will be in Second Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson. He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Leigh Ann Smith Miller and husband Ivan, Sr. and Angelia Wiley, and Debbie Linder, mother of his children and lifelong friend. Sisters, Charlotte Bergeron, Barbara Harper, Rowena Williamson and Wilma Hales and husband, Bill. 6 grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Curtis Miller, John Macias, Jessica Dampier, Robert Jenkins and Austin Jenkins. 3 great grandchildren, Zowie Miller, Charlie Navarre and Jessalynn Jenkins. His beloved Fur baby, Harley and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Ivan “Pookie” Miller, Jr., Parents, Estelle and Frank Barefield, brother, Horace Smith and brothers in law, Charles Bergeron, A.D. Harper and Dean Williamson. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Walker and Mac Field. Honorary pallbearers will be W.D. Simmons, Dennis Mabry, Dennis Tweety, Ivan Miller, Sr. and Mike Leblanc.
