Obituary for Ray Jackson Jr.
Ray Jackson Jr., a resident of Oakwood Village in Zachary, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the age of 93. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Tom Taylor of Centreville, MS; a son and daughter-in-law Greg and Shelia Jackson of Central, LA; a daughter-in-law Audrey Jackson of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Jackson of Louisville, KY; first wife Evelyn Jackson of Baton Rouge; and second wife Bernice Jackson of Atlanta; brother Billy Jackson and sister Ruth Bagby of Clarksville, TN.
After raising his family in Baton Rouge, he moved to Atlanta, GA, where he resided for the next 24 years. He was a big Atlanta Braves fan.
Ray returned to Baton Rouge in 2012 and quickly rediscovered his fondness for LSU football and baseball. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oakwood Village for their loving care, and also to Nurse Jayme of Hospice of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Hope Baptist Church, 225 Little Hope Rd., Clarksville, TN 37043.
