Lawrence William Leet, Sr., a resident of Slaughter, died on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at his home after a short battle with cancer. He was 83 years old and was retired from South Central Bell with 31 years of service. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 from 2pm until service time at 3pm conducted by Dr. Ron Aguillard. Burial will be in Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his daughters, Theresa Conrad and husband, Eugene of Slaughter and Michele Lopez and husband, Richard of Jasper, AL. A sister, Rita Landry and husband, Lloyd of White Castle. Grandchildren, Michael Conrad, Chad Conrad, Jeremy Conrad, Lacey McCrae, Laramey Leet, Shanika Auguste, Luke Russell, Maddie Lopez, and Jacob Russell. 23 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Francis Leet, a son, Larry Leet, Jr., parents, Ovide and Katie Leet and numerous siblings. Pallbearers will be Michael Conrad, Jeremy Conrad, Richard Lopez, Chad Conrad, Laramey Leet, and Luke Russell. Honorary pallbearer will be Eugene Conrad. He enjoyed woodworking and gunsmithing. He was dedicated to the church and was a past deacon at Bethany Baptist of Baywood and Redwood Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Redwood Baptist Church in Slaughter. “He FINALLY made it to Charlet”.
