Obituary for Daniel Robert "Tater" Cathey
Daniel "Tater" Robert Cathey, 52, a resident of St. Francisville and born in Downey, CA, passed away on August 31, 2020. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at First Baptist Church of St. Francisville from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Tater is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Horricks Cathey, daughter, Maggie Cathey of Friendswood, TX, father, Ronald Cathey of St. Francisville, sisters, Jenele Meredith and husband Will of St. Francisville, and Lanie Cathey of St. Francisville, brother, Frankie Cathey and wife Jesse of St. Francisville and granddaughter, Maizy Mae Postel.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Shari Cathey, grandparents, George R. and Dorothy H. Cathey and Daniel P. and Betty Smith and niece, Gracie Ann Meredith.
Tater loved being with family and friends. He enjoyed football season, LSU, fishing on the river, his music, and his beer. Tater was the life of the party no matter where he went. He never met a stranger and easily made new friends. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He had a heart of absolute gold and will greatly be missed by all.
