Obituary for Shirley Carroll Niehaus

Shirley Carroll Niehaus 85 years old, passed away before daybreak on June 11, 2020 in Baton Rouge, LA.,. Shirley was born in Brookhaven, Ms. on November 15, 1934 and was the daughter of Mary Stella Givens Hammack and Henry Asborn Cliburn. Shirley never met a stranger. She saw the good in everyone and believed that goodness would eventually prevail. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling, sewing, thrifting.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her son Carroll Ray Holloway, brothers William Spencer Robinson and James Kendall Cliburn, sisters Billie Cliburn, Ethel Cliburn, and her chihuahua, Skippy. She loved that dog more than she did anyone else. He was spoiled, but put a smile on her face and warmed her heart for 16 years.

Survivors include her husband Michael J. Niehaus of Zachary, La., brother Donnie D Cliburn and wife Robin of New Zealand, Billy Cliburn of Ferriday, La., Charlie Cliburn and sister Mary Nell Cliburn, son James L Whittington, wife Linda of Zachary, La., their two children, Jimmy Dearl Whittington of Greenwell Springs, La. and Mylinda Baker of Pueblo, Colorado, daughter Stella A Wedgeworth Busby, husband John of Tallulah, La., their two children Stephanie A York of Georgetown, Tx. and Jacob D Busby of Clinton, Ms., son Charles L Wedgeworth, wife Kaffy of Natchez, Ms., their two children Kaffy A Wheless of Tyler, Tx. and Katherine Wilson of Nathchez, Ms., daughter Shirl J Logue, husband David of Kenner, La., their sons Shawn Wedgeworth of Kenner, La. and Donald Read of the United States Army. Granddaughter Melissa Carroll Turnage and husband Eric of Texas, grandson Eddie Lee Holloway, and 12 great grandchildren.
