Mrs Linda always opened her door to my family like we were family. Even after we had left Slaughter, she offered us a room to come visit. The guest room was stacked with boxes and at times I feared they would come tumbling down on me. But she assured me I was safe. And I knew I was. She taught Paul piano. He had a little flair for the dramatic. I once asked him where he got that. He told me Mrs Linda would have to kill me if he told me. Her secret remained safe. She made me a couple tapes of music she played. I would listen to them when I drove and when I studied. Something about those old hymns opened my heart to hear God talking to me. I imagine she is right at home in her heavenly dwelling. Playing a song I am sure.
