Obituary for Carol Brock Ratcliff

Carol Ann Brock Ratcliff
Born November 7, 1940 in Memphis, TN to Carlisle and Effie Brock, Carol attended Memphis
schools and graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1958. She attended Union University at
Jackson, TN and then transferred to Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. After graduating with a
B.A. in May of 1962, she married Joe Hugh Ratcliff and moved to Carthage, MS, where she
served in the two half-time Baptist churches where Joe was pastor. They spent weekdays at
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where she was bookkeeper for the Seminary. After
Joe graduated, they moved near Raymond, MS, and poured their lives into Salem Baptist
Church. Carol taught students in elementary grades in public and private schools in cities large
and small across Louisiana and Mississippi. Four children came into their home: Pam, Bryan,
Rebecca, and Brock.
Carol faithfully worked with the children of the churches where Joe was pastor, teaching them
the love of God in missions, in worship, and in her own life of service to everyone she knew.
