Jolanda Dickinson Garig, a resident of Lafitte, died on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019. She was 54 years old and a native of Seville, Spain. Visitation will be at Norwood Baptist Church on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019 from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Rev. Ed Jelks. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Norwood. Jolanda is survived by her husband of 26 years, James Allen Garig. Her children, Holli Jo Bane and husband, Jessi; Kimberly Denise Garig and Richard Dillon; Rachel Ann Garig and Dakota Thompson; Anthony Obin Martin and wife, Tara; Jessie James Garig; Dusti Irena Garig and Olivia Grace Garig. 10 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Hannah Jamay Garig, granddaughter, Harper June Thompson, parents, Bill and Shirley Dickinson and her siblings, Lolita Lee, Richard Dickinson and Billy Dickinson. Pallbearers will be Tony Martin, Jessie Garig, Jessi Bane, Rick Dillon, Dakota Thompson, Kevin Garig and Donnie Stokes. Jolanda loved farming. Her farm was named Nanny’s Nest. She had all sorts of animals that she adored.
