Obituary for Shirley J. Stevens

Shirley J. Stevens, “Nana”, 80, a resident of Slaughter, LA, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Promise Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was retired, after working for the East Baton Rouge School Board system for over 21 years. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Redwood Baptist Church in Slaughter from 10am until funeral services at 1pm, conducted by Rev. Ron Aguillard. Burial will be at the Grangeville Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Beckie Brown of Zachary; four sisters, Gladys Kelly and husband Billy of Slaughter; Peggy Stevens of Clinton; Betty Jackson of Clinton; Mildred Jason and husband Michael of Ponchatoula, LA; two brothers, John Jackson of Clinton; Roy Jackson and wife Carolyn of Watson, LA; two grandchildren: Joy Feierabend and husband Andrew Feierabend; and Hunter Brown; two great-grandchildren: Ayden Feierabend and Walter Feierabend. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Jackson; brother Tom Jackson; and sister-in-law Mary Helen. Pallbearers will be Andrew Feierabend, Hunter Brown, James Brown, Jim McNeer, Danny Stevens, Dewayne Stevens, Ayden Feierabend. Honorary pallbearer will be Walter Feierabend. She was a loving grandmother and mother who was devoted to her family. She was a Nana to all.
