John Raymond “J.R.” Owens II, 28, a resident of Pride, LA, died at his home on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc in Zachary on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6pm until 9pm and then on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 9am until funeral services at 11am. He is survived by his mother, Gayla McMullan and her husband Chris McMullan; father Dean Owens and his wife Amy; one sister, Karlie Rose; three brothers, Steven Owens and his wife Kelsie; Dalton Owens and his wife Whitney; Dakota Owens; four step-brothers, Chris McMullan Jr, John McMullan, Travis Trawick, Josh Trawick, two step-sisters, Shania McMullan and Amanda Trawick; and numerous nieces and nephews, who he loved very much. He was also survived by his loving grandmother, Geneva Bordelon. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Stephen Dalton and his grandfather and namesake John Raymond Owens. Pallbearers will be Chris McMullan, Dean Owens, Nick Datz, and his brothers. He was on the Northeast High School football team and lettered in JV and Varsity football. He assisted in coaching at Central High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Even after his accident that left him paralyzed, he was still able to hunt deer.

Revelation 21:4 and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things will have passed away. -Wishing you comfort at this very difficult time.
