Dempsey Eugene Woodward died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 at his home in Jackson. He was 80 years old and was retired from Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System with 35 years of service. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation continues on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary from 9am until service time at 10am. Burial will be in Second Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Zula Mae Woodward, daughter, Wanda Kay Woodward (Chris Lanoue) and a son, Jeffery Paul Hurst (Lorette). 3 grandchildren, Nathan Eugene Woodward, Justin Michael Holliday and Corey James Holliday. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Kay Woodward, parents, Jesse and Loyce Woodard, sisters, Margaret Kelly and Helen Smith and brothers, “Bub” and James Woodward. Pallbearers will be Charles Richard Lillie, Jr., William D. Lillie, Renoir Young, Cody Worley, Joshua Lowe and James Ray Wesley.
