Richard Hamilton Pope, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 4, 2018.
He was 58 years old and a longtime resident of Zachary. Richard was an electrician, by trade, for over 30 years. He also worked as a glazier.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kim “Pookie” Loupe Pope; daughters Shana Pope and Brooke Pope (Chris Perrone); parents Cleneth “Dick” and Donna Pope; sisters Kathy Lewis (Craig) and Terry Tollefson; a brother Donald B. Pope; two adored grandchildren Devyn Walker and Shalyn Pope as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son Richard Joshua Pope.
Visitation will be held at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, on Monday, October 8, 2018, beginning at 9am and ending at 11am with words of comfort given by Rev. Harold Babin.
Burial immediately following at Azalea Rest Cemetery, where Richard will be laid to rest beside his beloved son, Josh.
Pallbearers will be Donald B. Pope, Christopher Perrone, Dane Mansur, Dylan Mansur, Devin Mansur and Jeremiah “Frog” Ewing.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Devyn Walker, Mike David, Rusty Loupe, Ricky Loupe and Rory Loupe.
